Our Story

We are a family owned and operated kid’s hair salon in Metairie, Louisiana. We have been in business for 25 years, established in 1994. We are well known for our customer service, patience with children, hair quality services and a clean and kid friendly environment.

Kid's Hair Etc. was opened because there were not enough hair salons that catered to children in the greater New Orleans area. We know it’s tough for our kids to trust a perfect stranger, much more a stranger with scissors. So our goal was to become exceptionally patient with children and use our hair styling skills and knowledge to give children a positive and fun haircut experience.

What started as a one person operation, renting a small area in a larger salon, has evolved to become a salon that houses 5 stylists who provide services for the whole family, all while keeping the kid friendly environment as a priority.

Thanks to word of mouth recommendations from our clients, we have not had to advertise in the conventional way. We believe our best advertisement is our work. Therefore, we take the time and go the extra mile with each and every one of our clients.
